July is traditionally the month when one deals with an overwhelming feeling of self-loathing, right? It is hot an miserable and everything about having a human body and existing in the material world is a terrible curse? Well anyway over on Bluesky and Mastodon (the only two social networks worth a damn) I have been engaging in a Summer of Art where I try to make people look at various drawings I've made over the last few years. I've made a lot of art. Even the archive on this site only goes back to January 2022.

Speaking of archiving my art on this site, I've done so for the last month as well. It was pretty light, art-wise! I did finish two more comic pages which as of this writing have not been uploaded. I should probably do that as well. They deserve to be posted.

You may have noticed, though statistically speaking you have not, that the comic is rather behind the update-every-friday schedule. Now I know it's traditional for webcomics to have a post that says "I'm working to catch up!" with no further updates at that point but I actually am trying to catch up and since the actual workload involved in drawing these comics isn't insurmountable it's fully conceivable that I can catch up and continue posting them on schedule.

This has been a bit of a better month for me, art-wise, I feel like I'm climbing out of the inexplicable spring doldrums and ready to produce more of the art I crave.

Well friends, we've reached the end of another month, which in turn heralds the start of another. I dunno about you, but I have been feeling the psychic pressure of all this to a greater extent than usual. My pep has popped, my verve has swerved, I couldn't even really enjoy this year's Mad Ape Den. There may be some delays as my capacity falls behind my commitment.

In the meantime, please enjoy the attached atworks that I have helpfully drawn over the course of this month.

In the month of April I spent a significant amount of time not making art, but rather making progress on my other website, The Encyclopedia of Pointless. A long time ago some weird friends and I made an equally weird interactive story called Choose Your Own Error Adventure and now that story has been once again made available to the public. I figured out how to import from the old MySQL database I had saved to the wiki engine the Encyclopedia runs on, and completed an initial editing pass to make sure links worked and tag the many, many entries that need to be rewritten. With any luck I will be able to enjoy doing the rest of the rewrites and making it a weirder and harder to navigate dreamscape will take approximately the rest of my natural life.

Lest you think I am neglecting Dimestore Novel, well, I suppose I am a bit. As of this writing the comic going up May 2 is the last one I have in my queue. With any luck I will be able to squeeze at least one more out before the Friday after that. One benefit of updating once a week is it's not a terrible strain on my time, so if I find myself in the right situation I will hopefully be able to knock something out, even if it means abandoning some of the more complicated panels that I had planned. Anyway, what I meant to say in this paragraph is there is Dimestore Novel content in The Encyclopedia of Pointless if you know where to look. I've started filling in some lore details over there, not to mention Johnny Wallbank who will shortly become an important part of both sites.

Now finally, I have some images to share with you that I drew in the month of April 2025. These include a fair number of cute Natashas, a couple of Evangelines, and yet another attempt at a design for Johnny Wallbank. Please don't let me forget to draw the error hunting Adventurer and Bozo Nineteen in the future. I want to add more fun illustrations to key pages in Choose Your Own Error Adventure.

April fools! My clever jape this year is to provide the artwork I produced last month in exactly the same manner as I have for the past few years (The evidence is here! Prove me wrong!)

Obviously, I have been in the throes of both attempting to carry on this long-awaited comic story while dealing with the incredibly depressing situation the world has presented to me. Thanks to my manic production in the month of January and the glacier pace I chose to release new comics we still have some buffer to work with. That said, if I don't light my butt on fire this month that buffer will melt to nothing in no time.

This month you get a couple of images of a person I would describe as "young Natasha" on account of that's who it is. Perhaps someday you will get to learn more about this Natasha and what makes that time in her life important. In addition to Natasha we also have some Natasha of a classic vintage and a mysterious young man who is DEFINTELY NOT Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Feel free to click through and inspect this files in the full detail afforded by my lightbox plugin.

Well, hello there. If you're anything like me (statistically speaking, you likely ARE me) then the last month has not been conducive to the production of creative works. This is a time of great upheaval, and even if you like what's going on in the world (statistically speaking, you do not) you would have to be incredibly naive to not be worried about what the consequences of these recent events will be.

But that is not why you come here. You are here to see the art I produced last month. It is not much. You have my apologies for that. The worst part is after a flurry of activity in January, I have not produced a new comic page since February 1st. At this moment I still have comics to post until mid April, so it's not yet a big concern. If I can get my nose back to the grindstone in March I ought to be able to complete the next scene of the story, which includes an introduction to the power of Artifice. Now, please click through and see my meager offerings to you, my gracious viewer.
