August 2022 was quite the month for art. This month, artists dared to ask the question "What if a hoodie was like a onesie?" The answer is it would be weird. Thankfully, non-onesie hoodies remain a winning fashion choice.
It was a good month for supporting characters this month, with strong showings from Evangeline, Virginia, Mr. E, Asher, and Ashley. Even the mysterious hero City Hawk appears. What's his deal? There's also more fanart of Stuart Gipp's Merry Hell, with Jess giving Merry the business. Lastly, there was some fun experimenting with hand gestures for the some of the many gods of Dimestore Novel. Are they canon? Probably not!
Have you heard of Merry Hell? It's a comic by friend of the site Stuart Gipp about disastrous relationships and also fighting demons from hell. You will find art of Merry among what I've drawn this month. In addition, I've drawn my siblings Ashley and Asher Owen, Natasha (of course) and Evangeline and Louise.
This is the month when I decided Ashley should have a robot arm. Her arm is inspired by one of my coworkers who has a prosthetic arm and instead of wearing a full-size one has opted to have a grabber just below his shoulder. I've always found that to be an interesting choice and it will inspire Ashley's non-standard arms for years to come.
Okay so April 2022. I tried Pilot Color Eno 0.7 soft blue lead in my sketching pencil. Soft is right! This lead will break when I look at it wrong. The color is nice, though, and easier to remove than the darker blue Pentel lead I normally use. I also made an easter egg that was just a regular egg covered in googly eyes. That's about it.
Oh yeah! Art! I did art too. Here's the art I did.
March 2022! Turning Red came out! I briefly explored an slightly different way of drawing Natasha's hair! Mr. Encyclopedia came out against education! There was a brief art fad for drawing a character in a skimpy Legend of Zelda outfit. It was a weird time. Thankfully it's over now and we can move on to more important things like... April 2022.
